Thoughts from a Liberal Who Had Hoped Barbara Had Some Sense

Barbara Bush after a tour of the Houston Astrodome where many of the Katrina refugees are residing: "So many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."

With a mother like that how could W. grow up with any sense of reality?

The Bush administration has pumped 1.5 BILLION dollars into the Louisiana levee program to update and prepare the levees to PREVENT the disaster that has occurred. These funds have been appropriated into the Louisiana coffers over the entire 5 years of the Bush Presidency, more money than to ANY other state in the Union (and more than any democratic president).

The President declared a state of emergency Saturday August 27 TWO DAYS BEFORE LAND FALL!

He has no sense…he is conservative.

The Governor needed 24 hours to decide on whether she would accept help!

"Shortly before midnight Friday, the Bush administration sent her a proposed legal memorandum asking her to request a federal takeover of the evacuation of New Orleans," the Washington Post reported in Sunday editions.

She has sense…she is a democrat.

I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family, it says, "They're looting." You see a white family, it says, "They're looking for food." And, you know, it's been five days [waiting for federal help] because most of the people are black. And even for me to complain about it, I would be a hypocrite because I've tried to turn away from the TV because it's too hard to watch. I've even been shopping before even giving a donation, so now I'm calling my business manager right now to see what is the biggest amount I can give, and just to imagine if I was down there, and those are my people down there. So anybody out there that wants to do anything that we can help -- with the way America is set up to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off, as slow as possible. I mean, the Red Cross is doing everything they can. We already realize a lot of people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way -- and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us! (Kanye West – from celebrity telethon)

Do I even need to comment?

I wish I had more time to continue this but I am tired. Yes Dan, you can check these, they are real.

Oh, by the way, as for Barbara, I think it is smart that you left out any part of the story and just put in the quote. It assures that it will be taken in the worst way possible. I guess it just depends on your slant and how few productive things a party has to say.

How does the saying go? “If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all”? If we could just change that to, “if you don’t have anything productive/constructive to say don’t say anything at all” or “if you don’t have any new valuable ideas, don’t say anything at all” we could silence the entire Democratic Party. It seems the only thing they can do is try to show what people have said/done/not done wrong instead of offering anything productive.

I know… I know… lets sit in our cushy office and demand an independent investigation into who’s to blame while bodies, people, still float in the streets. That, of course, is certainly the most important thing on the Democrat’s agenda, why wouldn’t it be?

But, hey, Hillary’s a liberal….she must have sense.

Well, I've been thinking long an hard over the comments that have been posted on this particular blog entry. And, well, today I have officially shed my liberal leanings and have signed up with the Republican Party.

Okay. Maybe not. BUT I do apologize for posting a very shallow blog entry during these times of great suffering for our neighbors to the south.

This post actually wasn't meant to be political. John Kerry's mom could very well have said exactly the same thing and I would have been equally disappointed.

That aside, the entry is worth deleting except that I would hate to delete your comments along with it.
